An MBA opens the door to meaningful career opportunities in the dynamic and increasingly critical energy industry.
At Booth, you’ll network with classmates and alumni in renewables, cleantech, and sustainable energy as well as those from traditional roles in the energy sector like finance at oil and gas companies, industry-specialists in consulting and investment banking, or energy and infrastructure investment in PE or VC. You can also participate in organizations like the student-run , which hosts events throughout the year.
Many students participate in competitions such as the NAPE/TCU Energy Innovation Case Competition, while the annual Booth Energy Forward Conference brings together faculty and industry leaders for in-depth discussions about some of today’s most salient energy topics. A Booth MBA for the energy industry is your ticket to an exciting career in a fast-moving field.

MBA Student Groups in Energy
Participating in student-led groups is a great way to deepen your knowledge in a particular sector, meet entrepreneurs and innovators, explore career paths, and make connections across the community of students interested in the energy sector.
The Booth Climate & Sustainability Group club aims to foster conversation between Booth students interested in finding solutions to climate change, provide resources to students interested in pursuing careers in corporate sustainability, and engage with recruiters and alumni in the sustainability space.
The Government and Policy Club provides nonpartisan opportunities for students to explore the relationship between government, politics, and business.
We do this by hosting events featuring Booth faculty with experience in government and policy, connecting students to events across the broader UChicago campus (i.e., ones hosted by the Harris School of Public Policy or the Institute of Politics), and creating a community in which students can discuss topics among each other.
The Chicago Booth Energy Club serves as a platform for discussion on all major drivers of the energy industry such as technology, public policy and regulation, energy security, and the environment.
The Booth Corporate Sustainability Club aims to foster a culture of sustainability through engaging with industry professionals, inspiring connections within the E/W student community, and centralizing access to sustainability resources.
